1. Scope

These terms govern the use of directorycodes.com (the “Site”), operated by Thorsten Meyer. By using the Site you accept these terms.

2. Service

The Site is a free, informational reference for standardized codes. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Site at any time without notice. There is no entitlement to availability.

3. Permitted use

You may browse, search, link to and cite the Site freely, and use the open-data downloads in your own projects (attribution appreciated). Automated bulk scraping that degrades the service, misrepresentation of the Site's content as your own product, and any unlawful use are prohibited.

4. AI assistant

The Ask the Desk feature requires your own Anthropic API key and operates directly between your browser and Anthropic; your use of it is additionally governed by Anthropic's terms. You are responsible for your key, your usage costs and your compliance with Anthropic's policies. AI answers are provided without warranty — see the Disclaimer.

5. Intellectual property

The underlying codes and standards (ISO, IANA, IATA, ICAO, GS1, WCO and others) belong to their respective standards bodies. The Site's editorial texts, design and compilation are © Thorsten Meyer. Factual data itself is not claimed as proprietary.

6. No warranty · liability

Content is provided “as is” without warranty of accuracy, completeness or fitness for a particular purpose — see the Disclaimer. Liability is limited to intent and gross negligence, and to the breach of essential contractual duties; mandatory statutory liability remains unaffected.

7. Governing law

German law applies. If you are a merchant, the place of jurisdiction is our seat.
